*End of vacation/first day of school of vibes! These two had the best summer vacation visiting Disneyland and Sea World (for the first time), pool time and swim lessons everyday with Grandma, and probably too much TV (at least most of it was in Spanish!).
My Current Inspo
My audience has really become a very diverse group of people. It’s not just 15 year-old girls. That’s kind of what allows me to write from the different places I want to write from.” - Taylor Swift
I have a confession to make! At 44 years young, I just became a Swiftie! Yep, that’s how I’m starting this newsletter! Over the last month my Social Feed has been inundated with reels from Taylor’s Swift’s massively successful Eras Tour. I really didn’t know much about her or her music before last month. And so of course, I had to start diving down the Taylor Swift rabbit hole. If you’re wondering where this is going, my newfound Swiftie fandom is less about her music and more about being inspired by her out-of-this world success.
Here’s a woman who has been pursuing her dream of making music since she was 9 years old and perfecting her craft everyday since then. She faced rejection at a young age hawking her music in Nashville, made the rare transition from country star to world pop-star, has learned the art of resilience, is a super savvy-businesswoman, and shares her vulnerabilities and growth through her music making her fans feel that much more connected to her. And, all of this has led to massive success.
More than anything, this has had me thinking about all those other folks out there who are massively successful and yet came from humble beginnings. I’ve noticed they all have a few significant similarities:
- They are passionately perfecting their craft in order to remain relevant
- Their creative force results in a uniquely valuable service to others
- They seek out opportunities for growth (be it self-growth or growth in general) as they face obstacles
- They share their vulnerabilities with their people (i.e. they connect with their people)
- They express their gratitude
I’m now starting my day with Taylor Swift, and it’s not just because I enjoy her music. Her music is a reminder to me of these success principles. It’s a reminder that I can implement them into my EVERY DAY with EVERY BODY!
Who is inspiring you? Seriously, we all need more of these super inspiring people and good vibes in our lives.
