The San Francisco Doom Loop
Who out there loves San Francisco? And I mean “really loves” San Francisco! Where are my peeps?
Can we just take a moment to exit the “doom loop” and gab about this amazing city?
Folks, for all the bad press that San Francisco is getting these days, San Francisco is still a world-class city and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And yes, I am totally biased. I freaking LOVE this city! It’s a city full of gorgeous architectural relics (I pinch myself that I get to sell them); it’s a pedestrian-, bike-, and dog-friendly city; it’s a city with a history of innovation, curiosity, experimentation and fun. It’s still home to one of the hottest job markets in the country (despite remote work policies) as well as some of the most prestigious universities in the country. It’s also where I fell in love with my husband and started my family. It’s where I could picture living the best life that I am currently living. Need I remind you why San Francisco is such an AMAZING city!
So, for those of us who love the city, let’s start changing the narrative!
A couple of weeks ago I found myself meeting up with a new client at Rise over Run in Union Square at The Line Hotel and I couldn’t help but to be reminded of Downtown LA when it was going through its renaissance years ago. This super cool roof-top bar was packed on a Friday afternoon and I could have easily stayed for a few more Jasmine Toddies, sitting in front of the fire pit enjoying views for days! The energy at this spot was palpable. Frankly, I was reminded that we all have a responsibility to support this amazing city, to support its restaurants, to support its stores, to support the community. And, while having a drink at a cool rooftop bar doesn’t change things overnight, the energy shift has got to start somewhere.
So, who wants to join me in changing the narrative and supporting this city starting with a drink at one of these hotspots? Drinks are on me! #ilovesanfrancisco
