Here's an inside glimpse into my life. That picture above is what my living room looks like after the kiddos leave for daycare in the morning.
It is not sexy, and it is not how I ever imagined my home life. Let me tell you, I wish with all my heart that my home lived the way I stage and sell my clients' homes. Alas, I am at least a good 20 years away from that considering the age of my kiddos (I'm not counting down, or anything). But this brings up an important part of what I do - prepping property for the market.
When I advise my sellers to use some of the most talented stagers in town, it's because I know that we need to help their potential buyer pool visualize a pretty darn near perfect life in what could possibly be their buyer's new home. And this means more dollars in my seller's pockets at the end of the transaction.
Not only are those potential buyers picturing their future, they are becoming
emotionally attached to what this life could be like for them. This is invaluable, as this is what makes my sellers' homes even more valuable to many buyers.
And that, my friends, is why smart prepping, gorgeous staging, and magazine-worthy photography is so important to my process.
On the flip side, when I'm working with my buyers, I know that many of the deals to be found are in the most unsexy of homes - those that are not staged, terribly photographed and or have uninspired staging.
